Welcome. To put things simply, The Spirit Garden is a place set aside to allow connections to grow. In giving space for creativity and expression, primarily within the context of Druidry, we hope to allow all who join to share what inspires them, to connect with others, and to find some joy in what others have shared.
What is this site?
It is mostly a place to write. Inspired by blogging communities of an earlier internet, it provides a space to create and share. It’s been made with room to grow, so later more things can be added. Perhaps we’ll be able to post from other media. Or create groups. Or organise events. For now, the focus is on simplicity.
It’s tempting to begin by describing, defining for visitors what this space is for, and while I hope some may find something definite here, this space is yet to be filled. It could simply be a series of articles, written by one or several people.
Who can join?
Right now, the site’s membership is closed. This is because it’s still being developed. Once it is stable and safe, a small number of people will be invited to join. Later the site will be opened fully. As long as they agree to treat other members of the community with respect, anyone may join.
What is Druidry?
Many have attempted to define and delineate Druidry throughout history. To put it simply, it is a modern expression of a form of pagan religion, which has roots stretching back to our Celtic ancestry and possibly beyond. Hopefully, the articles on this site can give a better understanding of what it is, by demonstrating some of its practices, inherent beliefs and attitudes, and showing some of its values, while also celebrating the breadth of expression possible within the tradition.
The Spirit Garden is a work in progress, still early in its journey. Although the seed was planted many, many years ago, it has taken a long time to germinate - a long returning circle of journeying to fully realise. It was born out of the desire to connect and to share, and all are welcome here.
